How to edit a link alias?

< 1 min read

To edit the link alias of your QR code, simply click on the three dots next to the QR code in your ElkQR dashboard.

Once you open the edit section, expand the ‘Stats‘ tab. Under ‘URL Configuration,’ you can update the alias. We have a 60-character limit on custom aliases.

Keep in mind that changing the short URL of an already published QR code will overwrite the previous version of the QR code, rendering it unscannable. Therefore, if you do make changes to the link alias, you will need to reprint the QR code to ensure that it can be scanned correctly.

What are some best practices for editing the link alias of a QR code?

When editing the link alias of a QR code, it’s important to choose a short, memorable, and relevant link that accurately reflects the content of the QR code.

Avoid using special characters in the link alias, as these can cause issues when the QR code is scanned.

Finally, always test the QR code after making any changes to ensure that it is still scannable and links to the correct content.
